Dance
& Gymnastics Coach Biography

Chaz Gonzalas is a three time Ballroom dance champion. She teaches both
ballet and Ballroom herself and has hired an eclectic staff to provide a well
rounded approach to all types of dance and gymnastic styles.
She
is a single mom of two young children.

Chaz was born and raised in Small Town. While in college, she discovered dance and fell in love with it. She joined the ballroom dance team and traveled all over the country competing. After college she married and had two children--a boy and a girl. After her marriage ended in 2007 she opened the dance studio as a means of supporting herself and her children. It was the perfect opportunity for her as she was able to provide daycare in a room she set up just off the dance floor. She was able to monitor their activities in the room and still teach at the same time. Once they became school age, she turned the room into a play area for her student's children. This allowed those parents, who otherwise could not afford a babysitter, to bring their children and know that they were able monitor them while they were being taught. Because of this practice, her clientele increased and she was able to expand her facility to include gymnastics.
Her gymnastic troup travels around the country competing against other gymnastic teams. They are one the best teams in the competition. Their trophy case if overflowing with their awards. Chaz feels that dance and gymnastics are a way to express feelings, learn self-control, and to gain the value of self-worth through commitment, and the satisfaction of accomplishment. These things will help a person be happy, healthy, and successful. She provides dance and gymnastic scholarships to those children who otherwise might not be able to participate in these activities and operates a free afterschool dance program for kids kindergarten through 12th grade. She has added a study room so the children can do their homework before they dance. The children in this program hold a recital each year before summer vacation starts where the parents can see the wonderful talents their children have developed over the school year. She also teaches dance at the High School.
She has long worked with the theater club to produce a musical each year. It is a Christmas play and profits from the production go to provide scholarships to students who have found their passion in the arts.
