Incident At Ferry Butte Road

I would appreciate any information on the following sighting!

Please Note that the incident took place about midway between Idaho Falls, Idaho and Pocatello, Idaho near the town of Blackfoot adjacent to the Sho-Ban Reservation.

This incident took place on or near Ferry Butte Road on the Sho-Ban Reservation near Blackfoot, Idaho. It was supposedly reported in the Idaho State Journal. The time frame is sketchy but could have happened as far back as 20 to 15 years ago. It was related by a friend who remembered reading it in the paper, but did not remember when that was.

A woman, living in a trailer called the reservation police about something outside her trailer. It was making horrible growling and snarling noises and smelled terrible. She could not see it but she certainly heard and smelled it. She was frightened. The reservation police came out to investigate. They heard and smelled the same thing.

They decided to call in the Sheriff's department for back up. When they arrived again they witnessed the snarling noises and the horrible smell. They decided to call in the Highway Patrol. One of the officers from one of the departments was interviewed for the article and stated that it smelled like rotten arm pits.

It was getting late and no one wanted to venture out to confront what ever it was so they escorted the woman into town for the night. The next day, when they returned, the grass was matted down around the trailer.
