Just Do It!

Have you ever had one of those amazing, world-changing thoughts just pop into your head from out of nowhere? That happened to me a couple of years ago and it changed my life. I realized that I had forgotten how to have fun.

I know...You don't have time for fun. Sad, isn't it? We make time for those things we consider a priority, yet fun is somewhere at the bottom of the list. Isn't fun one of those activities we see as foolish, self indulgent, childish, dispensable? Probably, but I'm out to change its image!

Did you know that fun is as important to survival as water is to life? No wonder so many marriages fail and so many lost souls consider suicide. Fun is the breath of life. It is a staple that nourishes the mind and the body. Fun it the spark that keeps us young, productive, excited, curious, satisfied, and creative.

Have Fun!

How about taking that karate class you have been waiting for? It is never too late to learn a musical instrument. How about that cruise you have been saving for?

No time like the present. Always wanted to learn to paint? Today is the right time. When was the last time you roasted marshmallows in your fireplace? Well, what's stopping you? Can you remember that pillow fight? Remember the laughter and the squeals of delight as you chased your children through the house with all of you collapsing in a heap on the floor or bed.

Laugh!

When was the last time you remember staying up to watch a sunrise or an eclipse? How about dancing down the isle at the grocery store to the music of the Sugar Plum Fairy, or turning the car radio on and dancing to the we morning hours? How about reaching out and holding hands in public.... wow! How brazen!

What ever it is you have had a yen to do, (running through grass in your bare feet or catching minnows with your bare hand in a cold stream), just do it! We won't snicker. And if we do it will be because we wish we had thought of it. So Just Do It! Life is waiting! Don't miss the boat.

Scottish Games at Lake Norman, NC

Above is a photo taken at the games. It was fun and exciting and colorful. The bagpipe bands, the sports, the contests, the pageantry--I recommend it highly, and a great way to meet people!
