Until God Grants My Dreams
by C.L. Bruun
Until God grants my dreams I'll just have to live my life
And play the hand that's dealt alone though I face the strife.
I will hold my head up graciously, turn my cheek and dare not cry.
For the tears will only sting. Only I will know the lie
That my heart is cold and empty and the sunlight never shines
Into the hidden corners where my soul just wails and pines
For the love that I am missing...never yet to know the arms
Of a man who truly loves me with a heart that protects and warms.
Until I lay there breathless, filled with love that over flows
And fills my heart with esctacy--the feelings true lovers know.
Until God grants my dreams I can only live my life
And play the hand that's dealt me, but without love...It's not a life.
