Proving Bigfoot's Existence Should be Easy!

I watched the program prepared for the Discovery channel on Bigfoot this evening.  It occurs to me that it should be extremely simple to prove his/her existence.  In  the program there was a discovery of hair that was unique in its composition.  Bigfoot's existence can be easily established by certifying a notable lab to work up a DNA profile on a sample of the hair.  Using comparative studies with the known profiles of other primates ( and ultimately perhaps the possibility of cloning), one should be able to establish once and for all the existence of a primate species previously unknown.  Don't worry about losing funding or interest after the test should it prove positive.  The public will always want 'habeas corpus'.

Answer:  This DNA Test has been done on various hair samples over the years.  All it seems to prove is that a hair sample was found of something no one else has previously discovered or cataloged.  The hair samples are from something of unknown species.  It doesn't match any other samples in existence.  However, the scientific world has decided that it is not enough proof to declare its existence.  So, we must go even further and find irrefutable proof in the form that the scientific community will accept.  Unfortunately, short of a body or a trapped animal, they refuse to give any credence to anything short of that.
