the desert. They were once active volcanic cones. Recent Field Investigation of Old Sighting
In August, 2001, we were able to return to the sighting my daughter had when she was in grade school. We traveled to Idaho where we retraced our journey from Rexburg to Sage Junction on highway 33. This was the location where my daughter saw Bigfoot many years almost around 20 years ago.
To set the scene let me tell you that Idaho is high desert. It is a volcanic area with sink holes, lava tubes, and caves abounding throughout the desert that makes up a good part of South Eastern Idaho. It is a rural farming region surrounded to the East by the Rocky mountains.
Before I provide you with the pictures of the exact spot where she saw her Bigfoot, let me tell you about the surrounding area.
The Menan Buttes sit out in the distance like to lumps rising from the floor of
the desert. They were once active volcanic cones.
In the Foreground you can see the sage brush which makes up much of the fauna in
this region of Idaho. You can see the flatness of the desert as the cones
rise in the distance. We are looking south from the road.
Also along this road is Beaver Dick Park, named after a trapper.
This is a photo of our car as we were parked at the park, looking out into the
desert to the southwest.
