Bigfoot (also known as Sasquatch) is the name given to a mythological simian,ape-, or hominid-like creature that is said to inhabit forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest. In North American folklore, Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term sasquatch is an Anglicized derivative of the Halkomelem word sásq’ets.

Scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal, because of the lack of physical evidence and the large numbers of creatures that would be necessary to maintain a breeding population. Occasional new reports of sightings sustain a small group of self-described investigators. Most reports of sightings are attributed to being various animals, particularly black bears.  The best place to keep track of sightings is

My project

I am currently working with the idea of converting a Husqvarna robotklippare ( a type of robotic lawnmower) into a solar powered drone that can be fitted with camera traps (motion pictures) and be set free to roam the forest in areas where there is a lot of reported sightings. It would be able to operate independently during an entire summer.  If big foot exists (I have my doubts) and is afraid of humans than the passage of weeks or even moths should be enough time for them start ignoring the solar powered drone.  My main concern at the moment is how to prevent it from getting caught. I have considered solving this problem by modifying the Husqvarna inte a solar powered water craft instead.  This would eliminate the need to handle rough terrain and a lot of sightings is made near water.  I will update this page when i have a final design in mind and am ready to start building.
