House On The Rock, Wisconsin

I would have never believed that such a place existed, but it does. The tour starts at the base of the chimney rock. The house was the dream of one man who carried each piece and plank on his back up to the work site. He did it in his spare time and never held a full-time job during this time. He was able to continue due to word of mouth advertising which brought people to see this magnificent creation. Pretty soon he was able to build beyond imagination due to the funds he acquired from his tour charges. The entire tour takes a minimum of three hours. Most of it is wheelchair accessible, but the original house on the rock is not accessible by wheelchair. No words can describe this dream creation. You have to see it to believe it.

This sculpture is life size and fills an entire room. The whale is the biggest creature on earth.

Field Of Dreams Movie Site, Dyersville, Iowa

This site remains as it was in the movie. The baseball field is there, along with the corn field. A ghost team of players appears out of the corn to play a game of baseball with the people who have come to visit. Bring your bat, ball, and glove when you come. Two souvenir stands sell even the uniforms so you can take pictures of your loved ones walking out of the corn field. There is a magic there. People come to feel that magic . "If you build It they will come", was the famous line from the movie. They built it and the people came. It was a very energizing experience, one well worth the trip. No fee is charged for this experience.

While you are there, visit the Ertyle Toy Museum. Also in the town of Dyersville.

Dinosaur National Monument, Vernal, Utah

This statue looks very real and is just one of the many life-like creatures you'll find at the museum in Vernal. The actual quarry is further out of town and is worth the drive. There you will see real bones embedded in the rock face and learn about those who search for them as well as the creatures themselves.

Pirate Ship at Treasure Island

Make sure you bring a camera for this delightful show outside Las Vegas' Famous Treasure Island Casino. Evening heralds an exciting battle as the British and the pirates have a go at one another.

The House on the Rock started as One man's dream. Over the years it has grown into a tour that will take you over three hours. Starting with one of the most unique and breathtaking homes built into a chimney rock and spanning seven levels, the tour leads you past artifacts and antique collections that will leave you weak in the knees, You must stop at the House On The Rock. And don't forget to see the Carousel room. It hold the Largest operating carousel in the world, ( and there isn't a horse on it).
