Portland's Metro Washington Park Zoo

(This photo was taken from the Metro Washington Park Zoo brochure I picked up while I was in Portland in August 1998.)

Would you believe that they have Jazz at the zoo? Well, they do, along with movies, concerts, and other special events!

It is open every day at 9:30 am

Admissions are charged

Take the Zoo Train on a winding ride through the zoo, and the west hills overlooking the city, enroute to the Rose and Japanese Gardens. And back, of course

Come by bus - Take Tri-Met #63 from downtown Portland or #59 from the Beaverton Area (stops on the zoo overpass). Call (503) 238-RIDE for information.

It's Easy By Car. They're on Highway 26 West, five minutes from downtown. Free Parking.

You can exercise yourself here, certainly. With 61 acres and nearly every continent to cover. Though we hope you'll pause often--To Look Around!
