Souper Salad

Cafeteria/buffet style eatery - no variety, few choices, limited to simple breads like cornbread, rolls, white bread slices, a couple of muffin choices. They have simple salad makings which leave a lot to be desired. They offer three soup choices, none of which I was interested in. It was a real disappointment since I was looking for someplace to get a decent salad and a delicious bowl of soup on those days I didn't want a big meal!

Just because it is soup and salad, doesn't mean it can't be quality dining in a relaxing atmosphere where you don't feel the need to gobble your food and rush out. I felt like I was in a cattle pen.

It wasn't clean and I had to fight the knats for my salad makings. I would say it ranked up there with Circus Circus, though it is a very small establishment. It Will get my CACTUS NEEDLE AWARD!

Award for 1998

Since we started the New Year with our Cactus Flower award being given to a Florida Burger King, It seems appropriate to begin our Cactus Needle Award with a Burger King as well. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we found ourselves eating in fast food restaurants. However, even these establishments must be held to high standards. Unfortunately, this one fell flat on its face.

It was the Burger King on Woodland and Independence Rd. in Charlotte, North Carolina. Not only were the restrooms filthy, ( a rating of 3) the tables were dirty, the napkin dispensers were empty, there was no water available.... well, let me just say that we will not be back.... and the whopper was cold.
