Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is one of the most exciting adventures I have experienced in a long time!

Besides all the many fish on display, one unique feature was the highlight of my experience. It was the overhead bubble tank that ran above me as I viewed a tank filled with sharks and other ocean fish in what was depicted a natural environment. A moving sidewalk allowed me to move beneath the glass tank as if I was actually in the middle of a great ocean.

Great sharks glided effortlessly overhead as pilot fish cleaned their fins and torsos. They were amazing, yet fearsome creatures that hovered about above me. There was every shape and kind of shark to view.

The sharks were so close we could have reached out and touched them but for the thick glass compartment.

Imagine this fine specimen coming up to you. Those teeth show us why it is paramount that divers use reinforced steel cages to view these massive sharks in the wild. And I, who is afraid of water, got to view one right up close and personal from the safety of my moving walkway. It was marvelous!

I recommend this activity to everyone! There is also a indoor tidal pool complete with horseshoe crabs and all kind of sea animals and creatures that can be touched and held and viewed up close. This is not just for kids! This is an experience for every age.
