More Information on The Iceman

January 4, 2000 at 1:00 AM EST, I watched a segment of Unsolved Mysteries that gave a report of a Mysterious Ice Man that was seen by many people across the country at fairs and carnivals as part of a side show exhibit.

It seems that a man named Frank Hansen obtained the body of some sort of creature imbedded in a block of ice. He traveled around the country and exhibited it. A Dr. Terry Collins, presently a Zoological Researcher, saw it when he was only 17 years old back in 1968. In fact, he went to see it several times. He even took a magnifying glass with him on one occasion to see it more closely.

It was 6ft tall and seemed to be an adolescent male. He had a death grimace on his face. He had what looked like a severe injury to one side of his face. Collins was able to see all four incisors, which were similar to those of an orangutan - Collins thought that what he was looking at was a "Missing Link".

He tried and tried to get scientists to come and look at the creature but only one, an anthropologist from the University of Minnesota would bother to come out to view it. The anthropologist looked at it for about ten minutes and then walked away silently, not saying a word. By this time Collins was frustrated and decided he had to do something himself.

He contacted a couple of men, one called Sanderson & one whose name sounds like Hoovalman. They looked at it. They wrote an article that was published by a magazine called, ARGOSY in May of 1969. It was called, "Living Fossil". They went to the sheriff who dropped by Frank Hansen's home to tell him that if this was the genuine article, that he may have broken some laws. The sheriff said he was going to bring a pathologist out the next morning to check it out. That night, Hansen disappeared with the "Ice Man". He was soon back on the fair and carnival circuit with a fake replica of the Ice Man, but has, to this day, not told anyone what happened to the original creature.
