The Garmin E-Trex GPS

We have already started trying it out. We think the price combined with the size and weight of the instrument make it one of the best buys to have along for the trek.

The instructions say that it is easily operated with one hand. Well, not quite that easy. It has a lanyard attached that you can hang around your neck so it does not have to be held all the time.

The price is only about $130.00 making it one of the least expensive models. It is light weight. You hardly know it is there. It has several modes that you can use to track your position.

We recommend this model for backpackers, field research, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, any outdoor activity.
