Digital Cameras and Video Cameras
Cameras are important to document your research. Digital camera's are the best because of the ease in carrying the floppy disc or memory card as opposed to film, which can be ruined by mother nature. A digital camera is almost the one piece of equipment that you can't go without.
A video camera is almost as important. However, again, the video tapes take up a lot of room. There are cameras out there that record to a chip rather than a disc. The chips are expensive but hold more than a disc. If cost is a consideration, choose the disc type camera which will save a lot of money. If space is the consideration, it would take about 6 disc to fill up one chip. One chip costs about $100.00. The disc only cost pennies compared to that. By all means, don't scrimp in this department. Both type of cameras are valuable.
Bring plenty of tapes and discs, or film. Do not record over recorded tapes until you have had a chance to get back to civilization and go over the contents of the tapes. You might be erasing valuable info that is not retrievable. To locate more camera choices use Key Word on the search box: cameras, video cameras, digital cameras.
