Basic Spiritual Principles and Concepts that can change lives
Books we recommend
Living a spiritual life does not have to mean participating in a structured religion. Whether you are ultra religious or just believe there is some supreme order to life, everyone needs help and answers from time to time.
What makes one person happy may not be good for another. We seek a connection, to fill the void, the emptiness, the gnawing loneliness we feel from time to time. We are just beginning to understand that what we say and do effects more than just ourselves. We are just awakening to the idea that we are connected to the earth in many ways we do not understand. And we are just now learning that we can create our own reality, our own happiness, if we only knew how to begin. We are just becoming aware that a single thought sets in motion a whole journey.
We have ignored our true calling for a path that is less than satisfying. We have regrets and what ifs. We are confused and don't know what direction to go or how to reach our goals. We have obstacles to overcome and need help in understanding the walls that block our progress.
We are no victims here, but participants making decisions that effect not just our own lives, but the lives of others. And in the midst of it all, we have this feeling that somewhere out there in the cosmos are our roots, our real home, a supreme something that we can't reach out and touch though we are able to glimpse it in the joyous eyes of our grandchildren, the beauty of a wild flower, the majesty of a mountain range, the delight of a rainbow. But where do we fit into all of it?
Then there are the tragedies of life that leave us shaken and broken in many places. We want answers. We want to recover from the devastation. We want to once again smile and look forward to the morning.
There are those of us who really know there is a supreme being. There are those who want there to be one. There are those who don't know and can't trust because life has been less than kind. And there are those who want concrete explanations to life's mysteries. For each of us, there are answers waiting to be discovered.
I urge everyone to seek the answers to their own questions, search for the peace and happiness within their own lives. Then, and only then, can we turn our attention to those around us. It starts with a single step, a single moment in time when we truly want to know the purpose of our lives, the meaning of our existence. It ends only when we have learned everything there is to learn in our earthly existence.
We offer these books as our way of providing information that may lead to living the life we really love. They have been instrumental in our lives, as well as the lives of others, and wish to share them with others. Take what works for you and leave the rest. Each person has to decide for him/herself what is valid and what is appropriate.
