Exciting News From Dr. Matthew Johnson
"Greetings!!!
An older retired gentleman called me yesterday (10-25-2000) and told me that he and his buddy went hunting last week up around the Oregon Caves area. He head some noise and went over to investigate. He was about 30 yards away from a large male Sasquatch. He described tome what it looked like and it matched the description of what I saw. Wow!
"Apparently, the large male sasquatch attempted to shoo this gentleman away with arm motions accompanied with grunting noises. The older retired gentleman refused to give up his ground. Therefore the large male Sasquatch turned and walked up the hill to the ridge above. The older gentleman got his buddy and they followed the tracks to the top of the ridge. When they reached the top at a much slower pace than the sasquatch, it was gone. However, at the top of the ridge, they found three sets of sasquatch tracks (one very large set of prints, one medium size set of prints, and one small set of prints). They were leading down the other side of the mountain back toward the Oregon Caves area where my September 9th/10th expedition found evidence of three sasquatch in the area.
These gentlemen were unprepared for their encounter. They went to obtain the necessary materials to attempt to made foot casts, however, it began to rain hard before they made it back to the area of the tracks. Bummer! The few tracks they did find weren't that great. Also, because they were new at the foot cast making business, they mixed up the batch wrong and it didn't work. Double bummer! Nevertheless, the good news is that sasquatch is still in the area and he was able to confirm both visual and numerical details that were not widely known by the general public. This is excellent news!"

*A side note- There is a sighting report on the BFRO site under the heading of Idaho, Bear Lake County .... where a large male Sasquatch, leading a family group (containing a child size bigfoot as well as a medium size creature that may have been the female of the family unit), was seen motioning to the group trailing along behind him, motioning them to hurry up and keep up with the group. So, the reported hand motions, though rare, are not totally unexpected. This sighting seems to reflect a more human action not normally associated with primates in the wild. It would be interesting to hear from the scientific community on this use of hands in communicating.
