Indiana Report
Chris,
Get an Indiana map out if you have one....
In West-Central Indiana two rivers come together the Vermillion and Wabash there
is also an abandoned ammunition plant in Newport, Indiana. Very little activity
except for guards. Over in the town of Lodi in this same area they have a
creature known as the "swell monster". This creature is a textbook
lowland sasquatch. There's plenty of crops in these river bottoms, and plenty of
woods and cover. Deer herds in these river bottoms number anywhere from 4-30
deer per herd at night. Most are around 15-18 deer per herd. There have been
many instances where people have seen "the swell monster". I've been
in the bottoms at night and never had an encounter, saw eyes, or seen prints,
because we were intentionally looking for it, just to see if it existed, many
times. However, we were totally unarmed except for a 4 x 4 truck.
Being a local down there when I go I just listen, laugh, then come home and make
notes. To some it's a big joke. (they had a taxidermist take a deer
buttocks, turn it upside down, put eyes, and a small nose/mouth on it with the
tail hanging as a beard) They tell out of towners they caught the swell monster.
It gets a lot of laughs.
But there's one or more there. (Too many credible witnesses, just no one will
come forward) My biggest fear is that someone, someday, either there or in the
USA is going to casually shoot at one with conventional arms, and it may cost
them their life, because they will not stand a chance of escaping. The more I
research the more I think that sasquatch travel in small packs or bands. A
hunter may get a lucky shot and kill one, but he won't make it past the ones he
doesn't see on the way back to the truck.
Northern Indiana has had a "handful" of sightings that's about it.
In Parke County around Rockville there was a sighting in the park itself, plus
others.
There was also one sighted in Attica same general area just north a bit.
Another Indiana "hotspot" is in southern Indiana around Corydon below
I-64 but before Jeffersonville and Louisville, KY.
Plus in and around the Hoosier National Forrest in Bloomington, Indiana.
