November 2000 incident near Bigfoot Canyon
...here's an interesting question and an invitation for a Bigfoot hunt that Ray Crowe received and was kind enough to share with the list.
( Ray is a long time researcher who lives in Oregon, just
outside Portland)
12/14/00, Mike Hasenburg.
This summer I wasn’t able to spend as many weekends up north as I would
have
liked to. But the times I did, left me certain that my giant friend was
still about. I’ve
enclosed a picture of an old possible track, found on a roadside slope (near
Republic,
WA). It was just above a creek where we see more possible tracks, none of
which
were castable. I find maybe a half dozen of these a summer, but I’m
still looking for a
good clean indisputable print.
I spoke with my neighbor that has a place half mile downhill from our
cabin. About
Bigfoot, he told me of his experience mid-November, 00, while cutting firewood
across the canyon. On the edge of “Bigfoot” Canyon.
Upon arriving at a slash pile, he unlocked his saw and tied up his 120# malamute dog. Noticed the dog didn’t want to get out of the truck. The dog was acting nervous pacing and looking into the brush. He described hearing a slow but deliberate approach of what he thought was a cow. The breaking of branches and twigs, etc.
He and his wife were both watching, expecting to see a cow emerge from the thick brush. His wife saw snow fall from some trees 50 yards into the brush where something had brushed against them. Then silence, except for the dog whimpering under the truck. He then described the hair standing up on the back of his neck and the feeling of being watched.
Immediately he dragged the dog out from under the truck, wrestling it into the front seat, and got out of there. I asked him if he had any other possible BF experiences. He told me about hiking in along Goblin Creek, near Index, WA, in the spring of 1989. Then hearing something following him. Thinking it was a bear, he crossed the creek and started back the way he had come. He said he hadn’t gone far and came across the bones of numerous animals...both in the water and on the bank.
He said it made him very nervous, so he tried to put as much distance between that area and his camp that night as possible. He said he didn’t hear anything that night, and was relieved to get back to his car the next afternoon.
Ever hear of this type of behavior, depositing carcasses in one location? I’ve never heard of bears doing this. I would be interested if anyone else has seen it anywhere. I’m still looking for someone to go with me to document going’s on in Bigfoot Canyon. Anyone interested this spring? Call me 509-762-2658
The following is Ray Crowe's answer to this query.
(ed note: Ran across one of those myself...turned out to be a place
where poachers butchered illegal game. But, on the other hand, Peter Byrne
once described a trek with Jerry Crew where he discovered a Bigfoot bed, track
found,
where there were numerous bones in the bed. Also, once had a report from
Roy
Caddy of a place in eastern Oregon where there were numerous bones scattered
around the mouth of a cave that he though Bigfoot lived in. I visited the
area, but
didn’t find the cave or the bones - Ray Crowe)
