"To All who keep records, in a data base. Here is an encounter, sent
privately to me. His last name, I do not know. He can be referred to
as
Bud. He lives in Ohio" --- Report Provided by Rich La Monica
Here is the encounter Rich shared with the list group.
The first non visual encounter with what I felt had to be of something of great
size was back in the winter of 1990-1991 about 10 miles northwest of New
Matamoras. I had gotten down to a friends hunting camp for fall deer
season.
The cabin, unknown to me, was built on the side of a hill with the front being the lower end. Sometime late in the night I was awakened by what seemed to be a loud rustling noise like a bird outside the wall right by my head. Then it began "thumping" the side of the cabin wall. The thumping increased to like an open hand slap that was moving the whole wall of the cabin not far from where my head had been laid on the pillow. The walls were not of premium thick material, nothing more than several layers of plywood.
I woke up, rolled as far from the wall as I could get, and waited for one of the other two guys in the cabin to sit up and ask what the hell is going on....didn't happen...they slept!
It seemed like it lasted for about 20-30 seconds then quit. Again what struck me most was the eerie absence of normal night time noise... all I could hear was my heart beating in my eardrums. I'll tell you right now that, I am not a coward. I was always armed as a police officer, and a self-defense instructor...but that made my heart pound.
The next morning I went out to see what was blowing up against the wall making the noise....surprise... surprise... the back of the cabin where I slept was built up on 4x4s and 10' off the ground to where the "thumping" was coming from. No trees just open space. I looked, but didn't "examine" the ground for depressions of tracks, it was cold with no snow, and I was in hunting mode. At that point all I could do was say "hhhummm".
The audio encounter... (Made in his second encounter) ...was approximately 3-4 miles further west, and occurred winter of 93-94.
I went out the next day "in daylight" to that area, but
weather had brought a heat wave, and snow was melting fast. I showed one
of the guys in the hunting party a "large" track I found. It was
two of my size #8 1/2 boots in length, and twice as wide. I tried to take
a picture, but it just came out white with no clear definition. I found
nothing else in the area.
You make reference to a report of one seen coming from a cave...there are some
natural caves scattered throughout that area, I do remember seeing an area where
there were several natural limestone caves.

MARIETTA DECEMBER 1986
This story, is from a young man of 16, who lived in Marietta, Ohio, at the
time of his encounter.
His story, is as follows:
"I was out in the woods not too far from my home in December of 1986, near
the Wayne Nat'l Forest. There was snow on the ground. I had my rifle with
me because I was doing some target shooting. I came to this area where there
were several large, human like bare footed prints in the snow. I would say,
they were at least 16 inches long. I followed them, and they led to a
cave.
I had my flashlight with me, so I decided to see what was in the cave. I
went just a few feet into the cave, when I caught a set of eyes with the
flashlight. The were very high off the ground. Then this creature made
growling noises, so I decided to get the heck out of there. After I got
outside, I turned around and this eight foot tall, white covered, creature,
walking out of the cave. I then left the area, as soon as I possibly
could"
