Oklahoma Carnival reveals Iceman Exhibit
I was a senior in high school during the Fall of 1968.
My high school
always took the students to the Oklahoma State Fair held in Oklahoma City.
I remember the day quite clearly, because I was with a heart throb, Blond
and Beautiful. We had been walking around in the midway when I saw the Ice
Man exhibit. I believe I paid fifty cents, maybe twenty five, to get a
glimpse of this Ice Man. I remember the white trailer with red lettering
and of course the usual cheap caricature canvass painting out in front of
the trailer. What I saw in that trailer became a quest for me
.
The Ice Man did look like a "Cave Man" but at
the same time it looked
like a dead human. During my enlistment in the U.S. Army I was privileged
to attend the party in the jungle and there I saw plenty of dead humans.
Its right arm was raised up and over the top of the head. The hands and
feet seemed out of proportion with the size of the rest of the body. The
hands and feet were big. The face area was not displayed clearly, so I
couldn't see the facial features. I mean I could see the general features
of its face, but the haze of the ice prevented getting a clear look.
The hair was rather dark brown, and coarse like a pig but thick. The
hair was
very sparse around the chest and genital areas. I looked as closely as I
could at the hair on its chest. In particular, I was looking for fakery at
the hair roots. The hair growth looked to be authentic, I mean the hair
was growing out of the skin, not hair stuck in plastic. Also, I noticed
that it was a male. And his pecker looked to be real, of course, I didn't
get down and study the area closely. A jock was not to look at the male
genitals of any species. It was just a glance. The skin was flesh
color.
It looked like a very hairy white man. The teeth were visible
enough that I could
see they were large and blocked. The gums around the top of the teeth were
black. Kinda like the teeth of an orangutan. The midway and rides
were
presented by the Royal American Shows.
I read an article in Argosy magazine entitled "The
Minnesota Ice Man".
The pictures in the magazine were the same as the features I saw at the
fair. I think the magazine was published either in July or August, 1969.
>From that time in 1968 to the present I have read, and saw TV programs,
asked anyone who showed the slightest interest question after question and I
have gone out on weekend and vacation jaunts to Colorado, Arkansas, Kansas,
Oklahoma and Arizona to investigate sighting reports.
I would like to just see a Bigfoot, and that is all, I just want to see one.
My grandmother use to tell of creatures that lived in the forest. Her
description matched those of the descriptions related to sightings in other
places. In general
she told of seven common characteristics: the smell, the hair, the overall
size, foot print size, the scream or whistle, and the sound of it slapping
or hitting a tree with a large branch or rock, and the appearance of it
being some kind of human. I heard her telling of these creatures when I
was
still pooping yellow. I knew about the characteristics long before I read
books about Bigfoot.
The Creek Indian name for this creature is "the long man". I
heard the very same or similar descriptions from a number of other Native
American tribes. The Sioux, Kickapoo, Pottowatomie, Cheyenne, Navajo,
Omaha, and Choctaws only to name a few.
I just want to see it.
Thanks for your time.
