A place where you can share your poetry with The World

Please make yourself at home!  Grab a cup of your favorite hot beverage and a snack and sit  a while.  We hope to see your creative spirit on these pages.  Send us your poetry.  ( poetry@cactusventures.com) It can be prose or rhyming.  It can be for children or for the more mature reader.  What ever your preference, send it to us and we will publish it here!

There's a few rules:   Keep it clean!  We reserve the right to refuse to publish anything that does not fit into our family oriented format.  There's no remunerations. (We'll publish it but there's no money, Honey!)

What is so important about poetry that we feel compelled to provide our readers with a public forum?  Creativity is a catalyst to the health of  Mind, Body, and Spirit.  Creativity satisfies the soul.  It creates joy, a feeling of accomplishment, and a sense of the source energy that makes us one with our creator.

The Beatnik movement was the forerunner to many later enlightenment movements throughout the years.  It first came to light in the 1950's when a small group of American Writers rose to prominence and spearheaded the first visionary enlightenment movement in the United States.  The coffee house became the place to meet, share poetry, and discuss, in a public forum, ideas, opinions, and experiences.

In 1955 Transcendentalism became popular.  Simply stated, this philosophy asserts that we are endowed with genetic components that allow us all to be capable of doing the right thing.  That through Nature we are able to be in touch with our very souls. In addition, that our natural instincts and intuition will direct us to choose the correct action if we but become self aware.  The East Indian and Asian cultures of Zen Buddhism and other enlightened cultures became all the rage and have carried through into the new Millennium.

The Beatnik movement was the parent of Flower Power in the 70's, and later the introduction of all forms of enlightenment movements as we humans tried to make sense of our lives and find that connection to the Universe that had so far eluded us.

Since we can't do actual poetry readings, we hope that this forum will be just as exciting and entertaining for our readers.  Cool, Man!  Go Dadio!

We are planning to publish a small collection of the poems we feature at The Cellar.  We would love to see your poetry featured in our publication.  We plan on publishing yearly, so don't hesitate.  If we do not receive enough entries in any given year to warrant a publication, those already submitted will be held over until the following year's publication.  Our first edition will be out in time for Christmas, 2011. Deadlines for this publication will be August 1, 2011.  Our tentative date for availability will be November 1, 2011.

We will notify each and every one of you as to acceptance of your submission, approximate date of publication, expected price, shipping & handling as well as any pertinent information.  If you would be interested in submitting and purchasing such a publication please let us know via e-mail.  This will give us an idea of the number of submission we may be receiving.  Thank you for your interest.
